International Music Masterclass: “Strings, Harmony and Counterpoint”

The day kicked off with an immersive musical masterclass conducted by the internationally acclaimed group ALIF DUO, representing the United Arab Emirates, South Korea, and France. Artists Seulki Lee and Antonin Le Faure guided participants through the technical nuances of playing the violin, viola, and cello, while exploring the principles of Western classical harmony.

During the interactive session, Le Faure highlighted the role of curiosity in musical education, noting that every note carries distinct emotional purpose. Emphasising the irreplaceable nature of human performance, Lee remarked that artificial intelligence cannot replicate the depth of musical expression because music remains fundamentally rooted in genuine human emotion.

Film Screening & Panel Discussion: Wakhri

The festival hosted a well-attended screening of the acclaimed Pakistani feature film Wakhri. The screening was followed by an interactive Q&A session featuring director Eram Parveen Bilal via video link alongside producer Abid Merchant, who engaged directly with the audience on the film’s production, thematic scope, and narrative choices.
