ISLAMABAD — Young athletes from the National Taekwondo Club Lahore delivered an impressive performance at the 5th Hakeem Nader Abbas Taekwondo Championship, securing four medals and capturing multiple belt promotions.

Organised by Rana Ijaz Ahmed, Chief Executive of NS Taekwondo Club Model Town and a fourth-degree black belt international gold medallist, the tournament paid tribute to the late Taekwondo Master Hakeem Nader Abbas, a pioneer who first introduced the sport to the country. Sanctioned under guidelines aligned with the Pakistan Taekwondo Federation. The event drew over 170 male and female athletes from various regional clubs, showcasing intense competition and technical sportsmanship. National Taekwondo Club Stars Secure Major Belt Promotions
In the tournament categories, National Taekwondo Club’s Had Shahda and Haram claimed gold medals, while Hassan Shahda and Ibad Adil Mirza earned silver medals after battling through tough lineups. Coaches and organisers commended the young competitors for their sportsmanship, while the athletes voiced their ambition to eventually represent Pakistan in international events governed by World Taekwondo.
Beyond the championship matches, fourth-degree black belt Poomsae Coach Khawar Mahmood, certified through Kukkiwon, the official World Taekwondo Headquarters in Korea, officiated the event as head referee and judge while conducting belt promotion examinations. Following their performances, Had Shahid and Hassan Shahid advanced to blue belts, while Haram officially earned a black belt.
